As you re-join Highway 84 after your trip to "White Place", set your milage counter to 0. Continue north on 84. At about 3.1 miles you will begin to climb a hill. The road bends left and the Chama River is on your left. Make note of a space on the left side of the road to park. You will stop here on the way back.

For now continue on past the Abiquiu Reservoir. Pedernal Mountain (square top) is on your left. You will see the Ghost Ranch cliffs in the distance.
